To get your safety deposit box:

  1. Open an account with J. Rotbart & Co.: Account opening is simple (often taking just 8 hours) and identical for all our services, so you only need to go through this process once.
  2. Place your order for your safety deposit box:
    • Request size.
    • Specify location.
    • Identify authorized persons. Please note: only authorized persons can access your safety deposit box. Having the key is not enough.
  3. Pay your storage fees for your box.
  4. If required, we will organize transport of items to the safety deposit box location.
  5. Receive key or keep the key with us if you wish for us to manage your inventory on your behalf.
  6. Receive documentation
    • Invoice.
    • Storage receipt: vault location and details of goods stored.

To access your safety deposit box at the vault:

Before your visit:

  1. Inform us of your visit. Please give us at least 24 hours’ notice. This is so that we can ensure a staff member is available with the vault’s key to your box, as it requires two keys to open the superior double dock. Please provide:
    • Name of authorized person coming to access the box (assuming that you have more than one authorized person).
    • Date and time of visit.
    • Safe deposit box location.
    • Any other special instructions.

Upon arrival at the vault:

  1. Provide you proof of identity upon request. Please note: Only authorized persons are allowed to access a safety deposit box.
  2. Proceed to your safety deposit box location and open the double lock with an authorized staff member.
  3. Once open, you can access your box in complete confidentiality. All our facilities have private rooms that are fully secured and not under any surveillance. Cameras monitor all other public/open areas, but you have full privacy when you enter our vault rooms.

When you are finished:

  1. Notify vault staff.
  2. Return your safety deposit box to its storage location.
  3. Complete signing out process.

To access your portable safety deposit box:

Before your visit:

  1. Inform us that you require delivery. Please give us at least 24 hours’ notice. This is so we can make the necessary transportation arrangements. Please provide:
    • Name of authorized person who will receive delivery of the box (assuming that you have more than one authorized person).
    • Safe deposit box location.
    • Date and time of delivery.
    • Specifics on delivery — exact location, any security protocols or checks to enter premises, etc.
    • Any other special instructions.

Upon safe deposit box arrival:

  1. Provide you proof of identity upon request. Please note: Only authorized persons are allowed to access a safety deposit box.
  2. Staff will provide you with the box and leave you in private to access your safe deposit box.

When you are finished:

  1. Notify vault staff who will return to pick up box.
  2. Lock the safety deposit box and return to vault staff.
  3. Complete signing out process, including updating box contents, if need be.
